Programming is the centre of Information Technology. Without programmers, very little of the other aspects of the field would be possible. Programmers use their artistic and logic skills to produce programs that suit the needs of business and individuals. There are several fields of expertise that programmers can get into, from the creation of games, to business application, to networking software, to various other forms of programs. While the training for such a career is fairly extensive, the job opportunities seem to be endless.

For those that love to solve puzzles, and to use their logic and artistic talents to create, this is an ideal field. Inventiveness and creative control are the key talents, combined with a strong work ethic that allow a person to become highly successful.

As with the other elements of Information Technology, no one truly knows where the field of programming will be over the next few years as it expands and adapts to the changing economy.
